A Window Between Worlds (AWBW) Advocate Huddle
Please join us for our October Advocate Huddle during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. At this very special huddle we will be hearing from a mini panel exploring how art can be a force for safety, healing and change in legal, mental health and prison contexts. As AWBW grows to address domestic violence and abuse beyond the shelter setting, we hope you will be a part of this exciting brainstorming of program directions and creative ways we can all help AWBW grow. The mini panel will feature:
- Joey Yedidsion, an attorney who advocates for the rights of children impacted by abuse, will highlight intersections she sees between art and the legal setting, including how art has impacted outcomes for clients.
- Ramona Young, AWBW leader and therapist, will discuss the need she sees using Windows in one-on-one therapy sessions with children impacted by trauma.
- Jill Seither, AWBW leader, who is adapting the Windows program within the prison setting, will share the impact of AWBW as a window of safety, healing and change for incarcerated women.
As always, the night will include dinner from 6:00-6:30pm, a mini art project, and an overview of current ways to support. Please RSVP to Jaime at jreed@awbw.org or call 310-396-0317.
We recommend finding street parking or valet is available at The Brig for $10. Your friends, co-workers and family members are also welcome!
