The Third Annual Holiday Venice Sign Lighting & Block Party will Take Place on Friday, December 5!

 
The Venice Chamber of Commerce and the City of Los Angeles  are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual VENICE Sign Holiday Lighting and Windward Crawl on Friday, December 5, at the Venice Sign on Windward Avenue. 

City Councilperson Mike Bonin returns along with a celebrity guest to pull the switch that will change the lights on the Venice Sign from white to red and green.

The City of Los Angeles is closing Windward Avenue east of Pacific Avenue during the event and there will be a stage for bands and holiday music. Returning as part of the entertainment line-up is Venice Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Wesley Flowers' distinctly Venice brand of classical music and mash-ups range from "Beck to Beethoven"  are sure to make this year's celebration unforgettable.

The Venice Chamber is also collecting toys for the Muscle Beach and Great Venice Toy Drives. People who donate a new unwrapped toy will receive a wristband good for discounts during the Venice Crawl at participating businesses. The Venice Sign, a federally registered trademark of the Venice Chamber of Commerce and Venice’s most iconic symbol, attracts thousands of tourists to Venice. The Venice Chamber is working on replacing the regular single color bulbs with color changing LED bulbs that will make it easier for the Chamber to change the colors of the bulbs for all future events. These bulbs will allow the Chamber to remotely change the sign’s colors throughout the year at no additional cost, such as red for Valentine’s Day, green for St. Patrick’s Day, and many others. A portion of the money we raise from this event will go toward upgrading the sign.
