Shul on the Beach Hanukah Party
Shul on the Beach Hanukah Party
On Sunday, December 21, the Shul on the Beach, Pacific Jewish Center, will host a Hanukah party for adults and children. The event will be held at the shul, 505 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA, from 2:00pm until 7:30 pm. There will be a community menorah lighting at sundown in front of the shul.
Everyone will have fun at this entertaining event. Children’s activities will begin at 2:00 pm and will include menorah coloring contest, latka toss, dreidel contest, and musical chairs. Children of all ages are invited. Prizes will be given.
Food will be abundant. Shul member (and gourmet Italian cook) Giovanna Gentilli is making her signature spaghetti sauce. Lasagna, multiple salads, and the ever-popular doughnuts, latkas, and ice cream will round out the menu.
Please bring a menorah and candles. At around sundown, everyone at the party will take menorahs to a table in front of the shul and all will light their menorahs together. Souvenir photographs in front of the assembled menorahs will be available.
Following candle-lighting, the Shul will show the comedy film, “The Cisco Kid” on the back patio. Popcorn and drinks will be served. This classic film from the [1980s??] is guaranteed to entertain the whole family.
