Venice Design Series: SWLA - The Vibrant Soutwest LA Tour
Meet at Superba Food & Bread to board a coach to take you experience the rich heritage of Leimert Park with artist Mark Bradford, philanthropist Eileen Harris Norton & Allan DiCastro's Art + Practice Foundation: The Exhibition Space; a performance by jazz and blues grat Barbara Morrison; a visit to the oldest building in LA, Rancho La Cienega o paso de la Tijera once owned by Lucky Baldwin, stops in classic private homes in Village Green, View Park and Baldwin Vista at the home of Liz Adler, owner of Liz's Antique Hardware.
The second annual Venice Design Series offers six site-specific events and guided tours, from Venice to Bunker Hill, Leimert Park to Brentwood, offering exclusive entrée into the iconic homes and business of LA’s visionary architects, artists, chefs, civic leaders, entrepreneurs and performers. The series benefits Venice Community Housing (www.vchcorp.org), a nonprofit housing and community development organization founded in 1988 that has successful developed lasting, neighborhood- based solutions for low income children, families and individuals in Venice, Del Rey & Mar Vista. VCH recently opened its 16th building to permanently house low income individuals, bringing the number of units owned and operated by VCH to 215.
