SUMMARY:G2 Gallery: Artist Talk - Stories of Wilderness from Susan McConnell
DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTION\n\n\n\nSusan McConnell\, Professor of Biology at Stanford University\, will explore our notions of wilderness and wild places through the lens of nature and wildlife photography. She'll focus on two of her favorite species: African elephants and lions\, whose numbers are diminishing due to poaching and conflict with local communities. The talk will include images from many continents. Susan argues that preserving biodiversity not only protects a wide range of extraordinary and beautiful creatures\, but that it also has direct and immediate benefits to people\, communities\, human health\, and well-being. This educational discussion will compliment Susan's current photography exhibit\, On the Shoulders of Giants\, currently on view at The G2 Gallery. This event is free and open to the public.\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n5:00 5:30 PM Arrival\n\n5:30 6:30 PM Stories of Wilderness from Susan McConnell\n\n6:30 7:00 PM Q&A Session\n\n7:00 7:30 PM Meet & Greet\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Exhibit: Susan McConnell: On the Shoulders of Giantsillustrates the grandeur\, power and beauty of land's largest mammal\, the African elephant.
