The Hotel with a History.

WE DON’T WANT TO DATE OURSELVES, but Hotel Erwin has remained a Venice Beach staple since 1975. The man behind our hotel is a local legend — though he’ll never admit it! His vision to welcome all travelers and treat them like family still influences our hospitality today. Remodeled in 2017 by Co-Mingle’s Sally Breer, each of our 33 suites and 86 guest rooms recall a 70’s bohemian vibe while bringing a modern sensibility to the hotel. Erwin Sokol created not only a fixture of the neighborhood, but an embodiment of Venice itself. Today, backed by the Venice Boardwalk, Muscle Beach, the Venice Canals, Rose Avenue dining experiences and the celebrated shopping of Abbot Kinney, Hotel Erwin is the choice for surf culture icons, interested business travelers, and families looking for an authentic and exciting Los Angeles experience.
