About Us
The Venice Electric Light Parade (VELP) is a vibrant, family-friendly weekly event in Venice, California, bringing the community together every Sunday at sunset. Founded by Marcus Gladney, this iconic LED beachside bicycle ride celebrates creativity, friendship, and the unique spirit of Venice. Participants showcase illuminated bikes and enjoy great music from sound bikes while cycling along the scenic coastline. With a strict no smoking or drinking policy, VELP promotes a safe and inclusive environment for all ages.
VELP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community connections, promoting nighttime cycling safety, and celebrating the culture of Venice Beach. Gathering at Windward Plaza one hour before sunset, the event is free to join and highlights Venice's culture of sustainability and fun. Whether you're a local or a visitor, VELP offers the perfect way to end your weekend, meet new friends, and enjoy a memorable experience.
Don’t miss this glowing display of community spirit, creativity, and sustainability. Bring your bike, lights, and sense of adventure to the best sunset ride on the West Coast.
