Your Source for Planning in Los Angeles

The City Planning Department will be offering the next round of our Planning 101informational series in May. This year’s training will focus on Planning for the Environment. We will be hosting a total of seven sessions across Los Angeles, along with a webinar.

Each of the trainings will provide an overview of the environmental review process, and the types of policies and regulations that guide project and policy planning considerations at the City level. Attendees will be given an overview of the regulatory framework at the federal, state, and local levels ─ along with a brief history of the evolution of environmental planning. The trainings will conclude with some highlights of recent citywide efforts that speak to Los Angeles's leadership on environmental issues.

Planning 101 is an educational initiative spearheaded by the Department, which started in 2017, in response to a growing desire from the public to learn more about planning and how it affects our everyday lives. More than 1,200 community members have attended the past 23 trainings.
