We are excited to share the County’s Fair Chance Website. Fair Chance is a  campaign to engage employers around hiring justice involved individuals.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice 1 in 3 American Adults have a criminal record yet 75% of people will still be unemployed one year after reentry.  Studies show justice involved individuals stay with companies longer, promote faster, and overall work harder than those without criminal histories.

The Fair Chance website offers a lot of useful information about the Fair Chance Act, how to connect to those resources and also a link to take the Fair Chance hiring pledge. The website also provides detailed information on tax credits, bonding programs, subsidized applicant screening and on the job training for businesses that hire justice involved individuals.
LA County is a proud Fair Chance Employer. The County of Los Angeles does not deny entry or participation in the application process to anyone because they have prior justice involvement. LA County has created this website to inform employers on how to become Fair Chance Employers as well.
