It was an art and music extravaganza!
From Oceanfront Walk to the 405, and many points in between, folks danced, browsed, ate, drank, mixed, mingled, and partied during The Get Around.
The event was a collaboration between the Venice Art Crawl and the Mar Vista Music & Art Walk, and featured many cool things, including:
Live music stages on the corner of Lincoln Blvd., Amiga Wild, Venice Love Shack, a Burning Man Bubble lounge, a vendor village at SPARC, a meet up with Paul Michael Glazer from Starsky and Hutch, and much, much more.
Throngs of locals walked, rode, skated, and scootered between the locations from 2:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. for a full day of friendly faces and authentic art!
And Venice Paparazzi was on the scene at the Venice hubs to document it all! View pics here: https://www.venicepaparazzi.com/recent-events-covered/the-get-around/
Here is a message from Mar Vista Music and Art Walk’s President Lenore French:
“The success of our joint event showcases the historic and current vitality of Westside arts. It also underscores the need for City and State recognition of an official Venice-Mar Vista cultural district. It was thrilling to see literally thousands of our neighbors and friends out on Saturday enjoying the explosion of artistic expression from the harmonious marriage of our two great arts communities. Ultimately, the night was a kind of validation of our efforts to form the Venice-Mar Vista Arts District (VMAD).”
Here is a message from Venice Art Crawl President Sunny Bak:
The Venice Art Crawl was overjoyed to join together with the Mar Vista Art Walk, Beyond Baroque, SPARC, Pacific Resident Theatre, SPY, Open Temple, and Paradise Project keeping art alive in Venice, and bringing the neighborhood together. We all had so much fun and people bought art which is what it’s all about.”
